Building the Kingdom One Child at a Time
When I reflect upon our sponsorship program at Glorious Academy in Uganda and the impact it is making on the thirty children that we are currently supporting, the following scriptures come to mind.
About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” Jesus called a little child to him and put the child among them. Then He said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming Me.
Matthew 18:1-5 (NLT)
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 (NIV)
These and numerous other verses of scripture leave us with no doubt the priority God would have us place in children, especially the most vulnerable ones.
I trust that the following report will provide assurance that this ministry we are involved in is close to the heart of God. And that’s a good place to be!
2025 Report on Sponsored Children at Glorious Academy Nursery and Primary School: A Holistic Impact on Their Lives
written by Prossy Kaitesi, church administrator of Glory Center Church, Ndejje, Uganda
Glorious Academy Nursery and Primary School has always stood as a beacon of hope and a safe haven for vulnerable children. These children often come from disadvantaged, unstable, and even abusive environments. Many of them have lived in situations marked by neglect, poverty, and a lack of mental, spiritual, social, and emotional support.
The sponsorship program at Glorious Academy from Men of Willow & Friends plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of these children, offering them not just educational opportunities but a chance to rebuild their social, emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. This report highlights the profound importance of this sponsorship to their holistic development.
The Vulnerability of Sponsored Children
The children at Glorious Academy who benefit from sponsorship are often those who have nowhere else to turn. They come from families struggling with poverty, violence, lack of education, and sometimes the breakdown of basic social structures. Without this crucial support, these children wouldn’t have access to education, nourishment, and the love and care they need for healthy and spiritual development.
Many of them were once helpless, hopeless, and unloved. However, through the generosity of our dear sponsors, they have experienced a profound change in their lives.
Prossy goes on to describe the numerous ways the school has a positive, and dramatic impact on these children. I plan to share those with you next month. But I must include this very important feature that characterizes this school. Prossy writes:
Spiritual Growth and Hope
One of the most transformative aspects of this sponsorship program is the spiritual nurturing these children receive. Many come from environments where they have been exposed to despair, anger, and hopelessness. At Glorious Academy, the children are encouraged to embrace values such as kindness, integrity, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through the school’s spiritual teachings and community activities, these children find hope and purpose in life. They are taught to trust in a greater power, to care for one another, and to believe in their inherent worth. Spiritual guidance helps to lift their spirits, giving them the strength to persevere through hardships. As they gain hope and spiritual grounding, the children are empowered to dream beyond their circumstances and envision a future full of possibility in Christ Jesus.
Dear friends, I, along with the teachers and students of Glorious Academy, and our leadership team, extend our deepest gratitude to all the sponsors. You are making a huge difference in these children's lives.

The wall is complete!
Every house has a builder, but the Builder behind them all is God. Hebrews 3:4 (The Message)
Within just a short period of time the word went out about a need, people responded generously and the builders worked diligently to complete the construction of a retaining wall before the torrential rains returned. This brought relief and assurance that the threat of mudslides and possible collapse of the hillside – which could damage or even destroy the Pastor's home and Sunday School building – has been eliminated.
A man-made wall of stone, mortar and re-bar may not sound very spiritual. From a worldly perspective people could say, “Look what we did.” But if we look behind the surface, we can acknowledge Who was behind it all. Today, and for generations to come, this wall will stand as a testimony to the God we worship and serve.
We are grateful for all who were involved in this project. At the same time, we give all the credit to the One who enabled and led us to get involved. I can only imagine how many lives will be impacted by this, as well as all the other projects we have been blessed to be a partner with Glory Center in Uganda.
I want to point out that this ministry is a product of an annual event that takes place at our church. It is called The Celebration of Hope. It was there in 2009 where we first learned that there were millions of people around the world who lacked access to clean water. We heard about a number of people who were able to pay for a water purification system. We applauded their generosity. Then God laid that burden on the hearts of some others of lesser means. But the cost of a solar-powered water-purification system seemed well beyond our reach. That's when we sensed a whisper from God: “What if we joined together to accomplish that which we could not do alone?
Now, nearly 15 and a half years later we are still responding to that message. Lives continue to be impacted for now and eternity. So when you look at the attached pictures and video, I hope you can see more than a retaining wall, as important as that is. I hope you can see it as a memorial to the God who invites us to join Him in declaring and demonstrating the magnificent love of Christ.

Thank you for responding!
If you recall, the title of last month's update was “Excuse me for asking!” Apparently, a number of you didn't mind my asking for your support for an urgent need. As has happened on a number of our other projects, people gave so generously that we exceeded our $5,000 goal. We were able to send $6,000 toward the $7,200 budget to build a retaining wall. The additional funds helped to relieve the burden on Glory Center to raise enough money in an extremely low-income community. Having all the funds on hand will expedite construction of the retaining wall. I explained why this wall is needed in last month's update. You can find it here: https://www.menofwillow.com/current-updates#h.uhtv9pmv81xh
I see a similarity between this story and one in the Bible. Perhaps we could refer to this one as “The Nehemiah Project.” What do you think? Like Nehemiah, we heard about the desperate need for a wall of protection. Prayers for divine direction were lifted up to God. People were challenged to get involved and there was a great response to the need. (See Nehemiah 1:3-4,11; 2:17-18.) Our two stories can be summarized by verse 4:6: So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together … for the people had a mind to work. (NKJV)
The key words being, the people had a mind to ... The Amplified version says the people had a heart to ...
Our friends in Uganda were low on financial resources, but they were ready, willing and able to put forth the labor to build a wall. They have a mind to work. We were hoping and praying for people who had a mind to give. When our friends here heard about the need many quickly responded and construction of the wall is well underway. (See attached pictures.)
Whenever I send out an update, especially when there is an urgent need, I pray before I hit the send button. My prayer is that God would move in the hearts of those He wants to give to this cause. We understand that we're not all called to support every need presented to us. But your prayers are always welcome and highly valued.

Excuse me for asking!
I realize that we have just come through a season of great spending, giving and being asked to give more. There's no shortage of worthy causes that are in need of support. It's a challenge to decide what, if any, charity with which we might want to share some of our limited resources with.
So that is one of the things I have been praying about. Of all the people that receive these updates, I imagine you are one of the few who actually takes the time to read them. Thank you very much! I do appreciate you.
My primary purpose in these updates is to keep everyone informed regarding the impact our partnership is having with our friends in Uganda. Fundraising is secondary. As I have said before, we think of you not as a donor, but an investor who is expecting a return on investment. Here are two examples I want to share with you this month.
First is the recent children's Christmas celebration (see attached pictures). This event was partially funded through our children's sponsorship program. Three hundred and five children from the community gathered to celebrate our Savior's birth. They enjoyed games, gifts and a rare great meal. But, most importantly, the message of hope in Christ was presented, and 50 children accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Imagine the celebration that is taking place among the angels in heaven over these precious souls (see Luke 15:10). Wouldn't you consider that a tremendous return on our investments?
Second is the two-story multi-purpose Sunday School building. Approximately 250 to 300 children flock to church every Sunday morning where they are treated to a cup or two of hot porridge. This may be the only meal that some of them get for the whole day. Funds for this meal are provided through a collection at our monthly men's breakfast as well as a few other contributors. While children may be motivated to come for food to fill their empty stomachs, they also get food for the soul with Bible lessons presented by dedicated, qualified teachers. This building also accommodates some of the children attending the church's day school, Glorious Academy, where we are currently sponsoring 30 students. I can't overemphasize the value of this investment in hundreds of young lives and the facilities in which they meet.
It is here that I want to bring an urgent need to your attention. The future of this building is being threatened. During the rainy seasons the hillside above the building is starting to collapse due to cavitation. Water and mudslides have washed through the building (see pictures and video). It cannot be occupied when this happens, and the children have no place to meet until the torrential rains stop and the mess is cleaned up.
The clean-up efforts have been repeated multiple times during the two annual rainy seasons. But the greatest danger is the possibility that there could be a major collapse of the hillside. This could result in serious damage or total destruction of our Sunday School Building.
Our leadership team believes that action needs to be taken to protect this investment that has been made in the children and their meeting place. The solution is to build a retaining wall. The proposed wall has been professionally designed and engineered. It will be 17-feet high and 75-feet long. The proposed budget for this project is $7,200. Our goal is to raise $5,000 from Men of Willow & Friends, with Glory Center raising the rest. To get the ball rolling we have a $1,500 matching gift offer. I humbly ask that you prayerfully consider making an investment in this wall that will stand as a testimony of God's faithfulness.

Bringing Light Into the Darkness
Note: This is the Update from the December 2019 Update. I hope you find it worth reading again, or for the first time.
Have you noticed that there are a lot of so-called Christmas movies and shows this time of the year, but few that have anything to do with Christ? How would you tell the whole Christmas story to someone who has never heard it before – not only His birth but the resulting effect that His coming is having on us today? Here is a selection of verses from the gospels of John, Luke and Matthew that do that.
Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is himself God. He created everything there is – nothing exists that he didn’t make. Eternal life is in him, and this life gives light to all mankind. His life is the light that shines through the darkness – and the darkness can never extinguish it.
... the one who is the true Light arrived to shine on everyone coming into the world. But although He made the world, the world didn’t recognize Him when He came. Even in His own land and among His own people, the Jews, He was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and receive Him. But to all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust Him to save them. All those who believe this are reborn!—not a physical rebirth resulting from human passion or plan – but from the will of God.
And Christ became a human being and lived here on earth among us and was full of loving forgiveness and truth. And some of us have seen his glory – the glory of the only Son of the heavenly Father! John 1:1-2, 9-14 (TLB)
That night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly an angel appeared among them, and the landscape shone bright with the glory of the Lord. They were badly frightened, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you the most joyful news ever announced, and it is for everyone! The Savior – yes, the Messiah, the Lord – has been born tonight in Bethlehem! Luke 2:8-11(TLB)
Matthew's gospel tells of the wise men who saw His star and followed until they came upon the Christ child. This must have been a star like no other, shining so bright that it caused them to follow it wherever it led them, however long and far it took them and whatever the cost. The light from that star led them to the only one who could, with all authority and honestly say, “I am the Light of the world. So if you follow me, you won’t be stumbling through the darkness, for living light will flood your path.” John 8:12 (TLB)
Now friends, we who are recipients of God's amazing grace cannot keep this greatest of all gifts to ourselves. The Son has given us the responsibility and privilege to be a reflection of His magnificent love into a dark world. Hear the words of Jesus as recorded in Matthew 5:14-15 (TLB): ”You are the world’s light – a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.”
One of the ways that we can, and have been keeping the light shining on Christ is through our partnership with Glory Center Church Planting Ministries, Uganda.

Contending for the Right Side
We have just come through a very contentious political election. Supporters for each side have put forth a great deal of effort and resources to help their candidates win. They are driven by the hope that their choice will best represent their values and seek to accomplish their goals. Emotions are high and opinions are strong. I will refrain from sharing my political position here, but there is a position I do want us to consider.
Whether or not your choice won, scripture tells us that we should pray for our leaders (See 1 Tim. 2:1-4). As good citizens, we have a right and privilege to participate in our elections. As Christ-followers, we also, and even more so, have a greater privilege. As we might contend for our choice of political leaders that changes from time to time, we should be about the business of contending for the eternal cause of Christ. This is how the Apostle Paul describes his efforts to carry out that mission. Perhaps we should follow his example.
Paul writes, “He [Christ] is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” Colossians 1:28-29 (NIV)
I like the way The New Century Version describes this greatest of all causes for which we are to be a part.
“God decided to let His people know this rich and glorious secret which he has for all people. This secret is Christ himself, who is in you. He is our only hope for glory. So we continue to preach Christ to each person, using all wisdom to warn and to teach everyone, in order to bring each one into God’s presence as a mature person in Christ. To do this, I work and struggle, (contending for His cause).” Colossians 1:27b-29 (NCV)
Can you see what Paul is saying here? There are a lot of good causes that we can be a part of, none of which can compare with this one: to proclaim in word and action, the glorious gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That is exactly what is happening through our partnership with Glory Center Church Planting Ministries in Uganda.
In a few weeks, our newly elected officials will be sworn in and take office. I pray and hope that they will lead us well and make wise decisions. For that, I am cautiously optimistic. But what I am really looking forward to is that day when Christ returns, and permanently takes over. I am fully confident in His administration. So until He returns or calls me home, I want to be found contending for His cause. How about you? Here is a song that echoes that aspiration.

More Than Donors
“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt. 6:20-21 (NIV)
I imagine that each of us when looking back at how we spent our money throughout our lives could share some do's and don'ts. There seems to be no end to the demands on our financial resources. There are a multitude of things we need and things we want. And there are plenty of ruthless scam artists looking for ways to rob us of our hard-earned money. Jesus told His disciples, back then and now to make wise choices and investments, particularly those that have lasting, eternal value.
I am confident that the contributions all of us have made in this ministry are fulfilling Jesus’s instructions and producing both physical (see Matt. 25:34-40) and eternal dividends (see 1 Tim. 6:18-19).
When I reflect on what God has done through our partnership with Glory Center Church in Uganda over the past 15 years this thought came to mind. We often refer to people who give to a cause as donors. But I think it would be more accurate to refer to those who have supported this ministry as owners. You have made an investment with some kind of expectation in mind. From the beginning, we have felt obligated to keep our investors informed. That is the primary purpose of these updates.
Here is a report from our partners in Uganda that will give you a glimpse of the impact your investments have made and will continue to make. (Edited for clarity.)
15 years of the Lord’s Harvest
Dear friends and partners in the Kingdom of the Most High God, congratulations upon this milestone of 15 years we have achieved while building together His Kingdom. These years have been fruitful, with tangible testimonies from multiple communities.
There are too many efforts to mention but let us concentrate more on these:
Souls Turned to Christ – Together we have preached the Gospel of our Lord Jesus and very many souls – thousands – have come to Christ through our programs for Clean Water, the Porridge Project, Sunday School, Glorious Academy, Give the Best to a Friend (giving clothes and shoes), and Skilling (vocational) projects including sewing, hairdressing and computers.
Transformed Communities – Communities have been changed as vividly seen through the transformed Muslims who are now preachers of the Word of God.
Transformed Youth – Basketball is now one of the outstanding open doors for Gospel preaching to the youths in Ndejje. We thank God for our fellow servant who went to rest in Abraham’s bosom, Vern Boelkens. He thought it well to have this basketball court at the church. Many youths now gather to play basketball and then we preach to them and introduce them to “father and child talk.” The love and kindness they find in this common ground is transforming them.
Glorious Academy – Glorious Academy (preschool through third grade) has also transformed many little souls who have grown up with the seed of Christ and shining everywhere they go. We pray for the resources to expand to more grades.
Leadership Training – We can’t forget the great work of training leaders through the Global Leadership Summit. Many leaders have been trained and developed; they then become trainers themselves. For example, we have pastors who are trained leaders in Ndejje, Kitende, Kyabadaza, Mutukula and many other areas; the fruits are many. This is how we change the world.
Through all of these centers, the work of transformation to Christ-likeness is being done. What is amazing is that this work multiplies itself: you sow a seed in the ground, you water it, you cultivate it and then it multiplies itself.
I want to say thank you to our dear partners for digging the ground, sowing, watering and pruning. I want to assure you that nobody can stop these seeds from multiplying.
God bless you,
On behalf of Glory Center Church, Prossy Kaitesi, Church Administrator
Friends, donors-owners, investors, stockholders and prayer warriors in and for the Kingdom of our God, I trust that this update provides you with reassurance that you are making an eternal impact in many lives. To God be the glory!

Anniversary Edition
Fifteen Years of Life-Choosing Ministry
“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster.” Deuteronomy 30:15 (NLT)
I realize these words were originally written to a different people under different circumstances, but I haven't been able to shake the possibility that God is still making similar proposals to us today.
Even though we didn't recognize it at the time, looking back it almost seems obvious that God was whispering words to us like this when we began in 2009. Could He still be whispering them to us today?
Over the course of years, I have shared life-impacting stories of those who gave, those who received and the church we have partnered with in Uganda. Here are a few that illustrate the effect of doing things God's way.
Life-Change for the giver
Jesus said, “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.” Matthew16: 25 (NIV) Paul urges Timothy to “Command those who are rich in this present world (that includes all of us) not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NIV)
My friend Mark, like so many Vietnam veterans, suffered from PTSD along with numerous other ailments and afflictions. This was a factor in losing his family. He would tell me that every day brought him less hope than the day before. There were days that he struggled to just get out of bed.
A few days following the monthly men's breakfast where we passed out DVDs and literature from Water Missions International, along with a flyer we produced, Mark came over to my house with a twenty-dollar bill in his hand. He was shaking as he said, “This is all I can afford, but I want to be a part of this.” I saw an excitement in his eyes and heard a quiver in his voice. His countenance was vastly different from the last time I saw him. He went on to explain how much he was moved by a picture of a little African boy holding a cup of muddy water. The thing that really got to Mark was the smile on this child's face. The message that came through to Mark was that this kid was about to drink some water that could have devastating effects on him, and a door was open for Mark to play a role to change that.
Somehow, someway, God spoke to Mark through that picture. Now, given the multitude of his ailments, the mental and physical pain he was enduring, I think it was close to miraculous for him to be moved by the need for someone in a far away land to be able to get a drink of clean water. As I saw Mark's attitude and state of mind change in the months that followed, there is no doubt in my mind that God was doing a mighty work in Mark's life.
Life-Change for the receiver
The story is told in 1 Kings 17 of Elijah asking a woman for a drink of water and a piece of bread, where she responded by saying, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.” 1 Kings 17:12 (NIV)
It is difficult for us to comprehend being in such a hopeless position. But this was the case with a number of people in Uganda during a famine several years ago due to lack of rainfall. We heard about the crisis and people gave generously. Here is a report we received from our partners in Uganda.
Here are some pictures of a single mother who had closed herself inside the house crying to God for food to feed her children. She reminds me of the widow in the Bible (1 Kings 17: 7-16) but the only difference is that this lady had nothing at all to feed her children. She was waiting for a miracle or death. So our team was prompted by the Spirit of God to go and visit her. They found her praying while crying, and worshiping God and, at [the] same time reading her Bible. She was desperately waiting on God.
When the team showed up and presented her with food she cried uncontrollably tears of joy. Everyone was so emotionally moved by her reaction that no one could even speak for a long time. When the lady was finally able to speak she explained how she had no hope and how she had run out of everything at home. She expected that she and her [children] would soon starve to death.
Such stories as this are many as we moved throughout the village with the program of feeding the hungry souls.
From hunger pains and hopelessness to heart felt praise and assurance that God does hear and care about those who are suffering – and He invites us to choose to stand in the gap between life and death, prosperity and disaster.
Life-Change Through The Local Church
When Glory Center Church first arrived in Ndejje they were met with much hostility by the predominantly Muslim population. There was also a strong evil presence of witchcraft. The church's efforts to share the gospel throughout the community was met with people yelling at them, throwing rocks and spitting at them. But after the clean water project went in people started treating church members with respect and acceptance. One day a local Muslim council leader came to Pastor Charles and made this amazing statement: “Pastor, I see that your church is making a positive impact in our community, and I am praying that your church will prosper.”
Around the world there is hostility, hatred, and prejudice. Diplomatic efforts appear to be futile. But here is an example of how the love of Christ demonstrated in practical ways can bring about peace and harmony.

When the church at Jerusalem heard what had happened [that the Jewish believers started telling the Gentiles about Jesus], they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord. Acts11:22-23 (NLT)
For nearly 15 years we have been asking people to consider supporting our partnership with a church network in Uganda. We have tried to keep you informed of the value of this ministry through reports, pictures and videos describing how the life-changing message of Jesus Christ is being shared.
Now, for the third time, we have a team that is going to visit our friends at Glory Center Church Planting Ministries in Uganda. Their purpose, like Barnabas, is to encourage the believers there, as well as verify that all the projects and ministries that we have helped fund are still operating according to plan. We anticipate that our team will come back with many exciting stories, reports and a vision for the future. Please keep the team of Jeff Stupar, Chad Anderson and Joe Jacobs in your prayers. They will depart on August 16th for a nine day trip.
These guys are going at their own expense, which includes airfare, travel vaccinations, malaria medication and accommodations during their stay in Uganda. We thank God for enabling them to make this trip on our behalf. There is a significant cost for the church over there to host the team as they travel throughout the country to check on our various water projects and their church plants. Any financial support for Glory Center Church to help with their expenses during this visit will be of great help and encouragement.
While we can hardly wait for the team to return with exciting reports, pictures, videos and information, we don't have to wait to tell you another story about what God is doing through our partnership.
The Kingdom of God is Growing in Kitende
The book of Acts records the beginning of the church and how the Good News of Jesus began to spread. That story continues to unfold throughout the world, and we get to be a part of that wonderful story. Here is just one example:
The first part of this story was reported in my August 2016 Update. (See “Dreams Become Reality” attached.) It has been said that a picture is worth a thousand words. So, in my attempt to keep this update relatively brief, I refer you to the pictures that show the progression of Glory Center Church, Kitende, Uganda, over the past 14 years. I hope you can see the invisible hand of God in these photos transforming this community. (See attached pictures.)
Today, the Good News of Jesus Christ is being preached. People are being saved. Clean water is available. A new church building is being built, declaring that the church of Jesus Christ is thriving in Kitende. Could these words that Paul wrote to the first century church also be written to us? ... thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of Him everywhere. 2 Cor. 2:14 (NIV)

2 Cor. 2:14 (NIV)

The Transformational Love of God
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:18-19 (TLB)
I have been thinking a lot lately about the context of Paul's prayer for us, trying to take in the magnitude of God's love. What does it mean? What impact should it have on the way you and I live in an angry and selfish world?
What brought this to mind was the opportunity my wife and I recently had to stay in a condominium overlooking the ocean. Its vastness, like God's love, is hard to comprehend. I wonder how much the prophet Micah understood about the span and depths of the oceans when he wrote these words: You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:19b
I know that this passage was just a way to help us comprehend the incomprehensible love and forgiveness God offers us. But I doubt Micah could imagine this: The deepest part of the ocean is around 36,000 feet deep. Contrast that with the 29,000-foot elevation of Mount Everest. No wonder Paul says in Ephesians that God's love is too great to be fully understood.
Frederick Lehman tried to capture a vision of this priceless commodity in his hymn “The Love of God.” As he and his daughter struggled to find just the right words to complete the song, they went on a search. Ironically, they found these words scribbled on the walls of a prison by a man condemned to death years earlier. Even though this prisoner found himself in conditions of hopelessness, he was able to experience a hope and comfort and assurance in the Love of God, expressed in these words he wrote: Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made; were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade; to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.” (See https://www.afrankvoice.com/hymns-history/the-love-of-god for more of the story behind the song.)
What do we do with a love so great as this? Keep it to ourselves? Or let it overflow to everyone around us, especially those in need, such as our friends in Africa. A little help goes a long way in sharing the Love of God. Whether it be this ministry or another, I pray that all of us would be so deeply moved by Jesus sacrifice for us that we can, in all sincerity delare with the the Hymn writer, Issac Watts, “love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRfcehP0SLU
